Being a Room Parent is a fun and rewarding way to get involved in your child’s classroom while supporting their teacher and building connections with other families. Room Parents help create a strong sense of classroom community throughout the school year.
Time Commitment
Time Commitment
The time needed depends on the grade level and activities planned, but most Room Parents:
Attend a short Room Parent orientation meeting at the start of the school year.
Attend HSA Meetings throughout the year
Spend a limited time throughout the month coordinating emails with the class
Participate in-school events or parties (dates vary).

1. Apply
Complete the Room Parent application at the begining of the school year.
2. Get Selected
Room Parents are selected several weeks after teachers and classroom assignments have been finalized.
3. Connect With Your Teacher
Once selected, you'll receive information about your classroom and next steps.
4. Get Involved!
You'll work with your teacher and classroom families throughout the year to help create a connected, welcoming classroom community.
